The third round of group stage games at the 2024 Leagues Cup concluded on Monday, bringing the first phase of the competition to a close. The 15 group winners and 15 runners-up will advance to knockout stage, with everything to play for in single-leg elimination games.

As was the case last year, MLS teams have outperformed their southern rivals. Of the 32 teams in the knockout round, 21 are from MLS and 11 come from Liga MX.

Along with the 30 teams who progressed from the group stage the two seeded teams, Columbus Crew and Club América, will enter the tournament at the Round of 32 phase.

When do Inter Miami play next in Leagues Cup?

Reigning champions Inter Miami booked their place in the knockout stages after finishing second in Group N. They beat Mexican side Puebla in the first game, before losing to Tigres UANL in their second fixture.

They were then paired with Group J winners Toronto FC for their Round of 32 game. Inter Miami will take on Toronto on Thursday, August 8. Kick-off at Chase Stadium is set for 7:30pm ET / 4:30pm PT.

The two teams met in MLS last month and in-form Miami picked up a comfortable 3-1 win with a depleted squad. The Herons were without Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, while Luis Suarez was only able to feature off the bench having recently returned from Copa America. Nevertheless, a brace from Federico Redondo and one from Diego Gomez was enough to win Miami the three points.

What is the 2024 Leagues Cup bracket?

Since the overhaul in 2023, Leagues Cup now features all 47 teams in MLS and Liga MX. Domestic competition is put on hold for a month for the pan-continental tournament.
