This Wednesday the match between Charlotte FC vs Inter Miami will take place at Bank of America Stadium in Week 24 of MLS 2024 and Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino’s side will seek to continue their solid pace-setting form at the top of the Eastern Conference. As well as simply winning and getting the points, another positive performance will serve to show once again that there is indeed life beyond Messi and Suárez.

Las Garzas are the best team in the league so far and their experienced coach has full confidence in his squad, who managed to get three important wins against Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew and Nashville SC, with the former coming with just 9 men on the field of play.

Gerardo Martino complimentary of side against Nashville

I think we had a very good first half”, Martino said when asked to give his analysis of his team’s most recent game, against Nashville, “we completely controlled them. We had two goals and five more strong chances. In the second half we didn’t control the ball in the same way as we did in the first half and we had to drop back, especially when Nashville played with a line of three”.

We didn’t struggle. Maybe it was pressure from Yannick (Bright) in the penalty move and after that they only had one chance, that Drake (Callender) saved well. I think overall we played well”, he concluded.

When will Messi and Suárez return to Inter Miami?

Furthermore, this will be their third away game in the last four fixtures, and the South Florida team must continue to show that they have what it takes to maintain top spot in the division – their goal for the season.

This toughmatch comes at a time when Messi and Suárez are still fighting in the Copa América 2024 with both Argentina and Uruguay favourites in their quarter-final games (against Ecuador and Brazil). On the other hand, it is expected that Matías Rojas will soon join up with the Miami outfit after Paraguay were eliminated at the group stage.
