BetMGM takes mobile sports betting app to Illinois

The sports betting and iGaming operator, originally launched as a partnership between MGM Resorts International and Entain, is now able to offer a range of sports betting options through its mobile app. 

The launch means BetMGM is now operational in 22 US markets. 

BetMGM’s customers can engage with fully customisable pre-game, in-play, futures and parlay options through the app. Bettors can also interact through a series of free-to-play contests during prominent sporting events throughout the year.  

Furthermore, the app also includes One Game Parlay, a betting product where customers can combine their wagers on a single game to earn greater payouts. 

Adam Greenblatt, CEO, BetMGM, commented: “This launch marks a significant milestone for BetMGM as we enter one of the country’s biggest sports betting markets. We look forward to working with the state of Illinois to bring its passionate sports fans a new, innovative and unique sports betting experience.” 

BetMGM has also made its recently launched loyalty program, BetMGM Rewards, available to Illinois bettors. Through the programme, customers can earn points for every wager placed, which can then be redeemed for experiences at MGM Resorts properties across the US.  

As part of the announcement, BetMGM also reiterated its stance on responsible gambling. In partnership with parent company, MGM Resorts, the operator utilises the GameSense program, which educates customers on responsible gambling practices.  

In March, which is Problem Gambling Awareness Month in the US, several operators, including BetMGM and MGM Resorts, have signed up to promote greater awareness of the impact of gambling harm. 

BetMGM has committed to including more information through GameSense on its app, while MGM Resorts has placed educational QR codes around its venues.
