GGPoker has announced the addition of Alexandra Botez to its GGTeam.
Botez, recognised for her achievements in chess and as a popular streaming personality, will now represent GGPoker both on and off the virtual poker tables.
Originally from Dallas, TX and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Botez has garnered acclaim for her talent and dedication in chess, earning the title of Woman FIDE Master. Her strategic acumen developed through years of competitive chess play is expected to translate well into the world of poker.
As part of GGTeam, Botez will share her experiences and insights with a global audience, leveraging her following on platforms like Twitch, where she and her sister Andrea engage with over 1.3 million followers.
Botez stated: “I’m so happy to be on Team GG! They share my vision for growing the game and I’m excited to embark on this journey together.”
Daniel Negreanu, GGTeam leader, commented: “I’m really happy to have Alexandra Botez on the team; she is a top-notch chess content creator who’s documenting her journey into poker and it’s a lot of fun living vicariously through it! We are thrilled to welcome her to GGPoker and look forward to achieving great success together.”
Botez’s addition to GGTeam follows other initiatives by GGPoker, including the ‘Road to Vegas’ series, which offered players the opportunity to win seats at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event in Las Vegas through online satellite tournaments.
Additionally, GGPoker’s collaboration with the WSOP Super Circuit online tournament series provided $100m in prizes for contestants.
