Malaysia’s RGB International Bhd has announced a year-on-year profit increase of 112% in its first quarter of 2024, with a sum of MYR25.3m ($5.4m) profit before tax. Revenues in Sales and Marketing grew 154% year-on-year and 120% month-on-month, solely due to the increasing number of products sold.
Revenue also increased for its Technical Support and Management (TSM) division, rounding to a total of MYR33.4m, as good performances at some of the TSM centers led to this 30% year-on-year revenue increase. Group-wide revenue in the meantime made a total of MYR210.1m, a 121% increase compared to the previous year.
In its comments, RGB is confident that its future prospects remain “robust” and has credited the key growth in the Philippines as one of the main factors.
In fact, RGB (Macau), a wholly-owned subsidiary of RGB, has recently been awarded a project by the Philippines’ gaming regulatory body PACGOR worth MYR382m. The project will have RGB supplying 1,968 electronic gaming machines (EGMs) along with their related accessories, LED signage and displays for Casino Filipino branches under PACGOR’s purview. The services also include logistics arrangements, engineering technical and product training.
Of the EGM brands supplied include 888 units of Light & Wonder; 888 units of Aristocrat; 150 units of Konami; and 42 units of KL Saberi.
RGB states that it expects a stronger performance in the year 2024, especially with the continuous growth of electronic gaming in the Philippines.
