Interwetten signs partnership agreement with NHL

nhlhockey

Following recent deals to extend partnerships with both the German Ski Association and the Austrian Ski Association, the Austria-based sports betting operator has entered into an agreement with the most popular hockey league in the world. The deal has been struck with the aim of increasing brand awareness within the sport, while offering secure betting opportunities for hockey fans.

Stefan Sulzbacher, Speaker of the Board, Interwetten, commented: “As a reliable sports betting provider, we focus our engagements and collaborations in sports with long-term partnerships that enable maximum entertainment. We are proud that we will realise, along with our partners Sport International Group and LOBECO, a multi-year partnership with the NHL.”

The NHL, which can average up to 1 million viewers per televised game, continues to attract high-value media and sponsorship deals from broadcasters and marketing departments alike. Last year, ESPN and Turner Sports jointly bid $1bn for the media rights for the next five years.

On the Interwetten deal, John Lewicki, NHL Vice President, Business Development and Partnerships, commented: “We are excited to welcome Interwetten as an Official Partner of the NHL. Interwetten is a leader in the sports betting category, delivering great entertainment to their customers through creative marketing initiatives. We look forward to working with Interwetten to engage the ever-growing hockey fanbase across Austria and Germany.”

Interwetten was founded in 1990, in Vienna, and has operated out of Malta since 2005. In 2021, customers could place bets on over 150,000 live events, and on a casino product range featuring 30 providers and over 1,200 games.
