Chief People Capability Officer, though? That’s probably a new one. Yet there will be a new hire with exactly that job title at Light & Wonder, following the appointment of Roxane Lukas.
Lukas is said to bring over 25 years of combined experience in the ‘People Leader’ field, focusing on the areas of organisational and leadership development, management and executive coaching.
In her new role, Lukas will lead Light & Wonder’s global people strategy, as well as overseeing the supplier’s people functions across the entire organisation.
Prior to joining Light & Wonder, Lukas was Chief People Officer at a variety of tech companies, while also serving as Global VP of HR at Electronic Arts.
Barry Cottle, Light & Wonder CEO, said: “It’s an exciting time for Light & Wonder and we are thrilled to have Roxane join the company, as we continue on our journey to becoming the leading cross-platform global game leader.
“The significant expertise, leadership and experience Roxane possesses will only strengthen our abilities to further cultivate our high-performance culture and expand our team of creators worldwide.”
This appointment continues the trend of new, perhaps creatively named, C-level job titles within the gaming industry.
It also continues the trend of focusing more on people, and perhaps diversity and inclusion within larger gaming organisations.
Earlier today, Light & Wonder reported revenue of $610m for the second quarter of 2022, a 5% increase from the prior-year period.
